 good way to practice is in the Quick Mission. and set your settings to ulimited ammo, invincible, and they just try things. When you do crash for any reason, it'll right itself and you take off again- thru any obstacles even. And you don't have to restart

 personally, i like to cruse around at 1400rpm on inline engines in germna planes. 1300 in rotary types. Seems to save my engine more in dogfights when I need more power
